Plot[]
Oversight convenes to discuss what to do about Nikita. They conclude that this is Division's fault and decide to execute something called Clean Sweep. Medeline Pierce is the only voice of dissent and tries warning her son Sean, just as he was about to embark on his mission to take down Nikita.
At Nikita's new hideout, she tries comforting Alex, who is still heart-broken over her mother's betrayal. They then discuss recent missions, including when they nearly got each other killed in Belarus. The next question is, how Percy got a message out to his Guardians to enact secondary protocol. Alex finds it impossible, as Percy is locked. But she then recalls making that electronic bank transfer. As night rags on, when Michael returns and he and Nikita get to talking, Sean arrives and get into sniper position. But before he could shoot, he is attacked by Alex and captured. When questioned, Nikita guesses that he came alone. The next question is how he found them. Sean looks to Alex's father's watch, silently indicating that he put a tracker on it. Alex is hurt and thinks to smash it, only for Birkhoff to offer to take it out. Meanwhile, Percy has made subtle hints that he's got something big planned and won't tell Amanda what it is unless he is released. Amanda assumes that Division is going to be attacked and puts the entire base on alert. At the same time, the Guardians steal a plane. After being told that Sean tried to convince Oversight to spare Ryan Fletcher, Nikita tries to get him talking. She tells him that she and her colleagues aren't out to kill Oversight, but to expose them and turn them over to the proper authorities. They tell him that he may think to return to his Navy SEALS unit, but Oversight would silence him before he gets that far. And if his mother pushes too far, she too would be considered expendable. Birkhoff then gets everyone's attention, revealing that there's a bug in Sean's phone, activated whenever he turned it on. Alex guesses Amanda. Sean then comes clean about Oversight's displeasure with Amanda and have decided to execute Clean Sweep. When Percy first created Division, Oversight had him install a failsafe: VX gas is built into Division's ventilation system and within twenty minutes, everyone in Division would die. Nikita decides to stop it, planning on bluffing that they have a black box to blackmail Oversight into cancelling Clean Sweep. Sean agrees to go along with their plan. Meanwhile, Amanda gets the authorization from Oversight to put Percy in a chemically-induced coma so that his black box release would stay locked. But before she could begin, the Guardians infiltrate the Gates House and capture Oversight. Amanda thinks it'd be an ideal way to get rid of Oversight but the Guardians also threaten to execute Clean Sweep if Percy isn't released. Madeline hides her cellphone so Sean and the others could hear it. |
